My question is not meant to imply criticism. Rather, it is a quest, as I will expain. I am confident that I will find what I am looking for.
Today I would like to showcase five women who each have a vibe that resonates with me.
Jessica Böhme
What I strive to live by 👵🏼:
to live an inquisitive life
to live in right relation to reality
to remain open to becoming a changed person (again and again)
to keep being curious and in awe
and very importantly: to enjoy this self
Her Substack is wild:health.
Elizabeth Oldfield
My name is Elizabeth Oldfield, and I’ve spent five years interviewing public figures about their deepest values on The Sacred podcast. I’ve worked at the BBC and in Westminster, been an agnostic, then a Christian, then an atheist and now, though the language is complex, a Christian again. I’ve moved my family into an intentional community in search of a more meaningful, more connected life in South London.
Her Substack is Fully Alive.
Jen Hitze
I’m a writer and former (corporate) ladder climber. I share 5 Big Ideas each week on Substack…
My primary literary interests include topics related to intelligence (human + machine), intuition, and self-improvement…
Outside of writing, I enjoy hiking and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains with my partner and rescued husky.
Gabrielle Feather
I'm Gabrielle – a research psychologist, PhD candidate, writer, and mother of two, living and working on unceded lands in lutruwita/Tasmania.
I live in a rented cottage on a berry farm with my husband – a gardener, a kind of druid, a man who trusts the land more than language – and our two daughters (soon to be three). We dream of a homestead. A place to raise our children close to the soil. A place that belongs to us, even as we question what it means to belong to land at all.
Her Substack is Post-Growth Psychology.
And last but not least is my dear friend…
Claudia Dommaschk
Attempting to get real and be brave enough to respond to what the moment is asking of me.
My hope is that by exploring new insights into psychology, spirituality and culture plus sharing my own personal reflections, I can help empower readers to navigate uncertainties and contribute to positive change by facing reality head-on with wisdom and courage.
Her Substack is Immediacy Forum.
Although none of these five women are Canadian, it is my intention to continue to follow them as time allows. However, I would also like to find some ordinary Canadian women writing on Substack. I am looking for a vibe that resonates, not sure what that means but I will know it when I see it.
Soon I will be showcasing Three Men, all Canadians who are largely unknown in Canada.
